Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions govern the use of the Glasgow Life Online Shop and the purchase of goods through our website.

The Glasgow Life Online Shop is operated by Culture and Sport Glasgow (Trading) CIC, trading as Glasgow Life ("we", "us" or "our").

Registered office: 38 Albion Street, Glasgow, G1 1LH
Company number: SC313850
VAT registration number: 898 038 276

By placing an order through the Online Shop, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

Product listings on our website do not constitute a binding offer. Your order constitutes an offer to purchase the goods. A contract for sale is formed when we accept your order and confirm that the goods have been dispatched.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

2. Payment

We accept payment online using Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners, JCB, UK Maestro, Solo, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Payments are securely processed via Shopify Payments. Payment card details are not stored by Glasgow Life or Culture & Sport Trading CIC.

Telephone orders can be placed via our Customer Services team on +44 (0)141 276 9520. All telephone payments are processed securely and must be completed prior to dispatch.

3. Pricing, descriptions & availability

Every care is taken to ensure that product descriptions, images, specifications, colours and prices are accurate. However, we reserve the right to amend or withdraw products without prior notice.

Product sizes are provided as a guide only. Handmade items may vary in size, colour and finish due to their unique nature.

All items are subject to availability. If an item becomes unavailable after an order has been placed, we will contact you and, where appropriate, offer a refund.

Prices include VAT where applicable. Delivery charges are additional and are clearly displayed at checkout.

4. Delivery & Shipping

We aim to dispatch all orders within 1–3 business days of receipt. During peak periods, dispatch times may be slightly longer.

Delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed, as orders are delivered using third-party carriers.

All applicable delivery charges are clearly displayed at checkout and may vary depending on the size, weight, value and destination of the order.

Orders may occasionally be shipped in multiple consignments depending on stock availability. Where this occurs, no additional delivery charge will be applied to the customer.

For eligible EU and international orders, applicable import duties and taxes are calculated and collected at checkout. These orders are shipped on a DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) basis, meaning applicable duties and taxes are paid on the customer's behalf and customers should not normally be required to pay additional import duties or taxes upon delivery.

The availability of DDP and the calculation of applicable duties and taxes may vary depending on the destination country and the products ordered.

Click & Collect

Click & Collect is available from the Gallery of Modern Art Shop in Glasgow.

Orders are typically ready within 1–2 working days. Larger or framed items may take longer, potentially up to 1–2 weeks. Customers will be notified when their order is ready.

Valid photo ID and order confirmation are required for collection.

Free UK shipping

We offer free UK shipping on eligible orders.

Please note that limited edition prints and framed prints are excluded from free shipping due to the specialist handling, protective packaging and premium delivery services required to ensure safe arrival.

These items are shipped using tracked services with enhanced packaging standards.

5. Delivery, loss and damage

We will take reasonable steps to ensure that orders are dispatched and delivered safely.

If an order is lost or delayed in transit, we will work with the relevant delivery provider to investigate the matter and, where appropriate, arrange a replacement or refund.

Where a parcel is marked as delivered by the carrier but has not been received, we will assist with an investigation and may request additional information from the customer to help resolve the matter.

Risk in the goods passes to the customer when the goods are physically delivered to the customer or to a person nominated by the customer to receive them.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits your statutory rights in relation to goods that are faulty, damaged, not as described or otherwise do not conform to the contract.

6. Returns & cancellations

You may exercise your right to cancel by contacting us at shop@glasgowlife.org.uk. You may also use our online returns or cancellation process. You do not have to use a specific cancellation form.

After notifying us of your cancellation, you must return the goods within 14 days.

Goods should be returned in their original condition and packaging where reasonably possible. Customers are responsible for the direct cost of returning unwanted goods unless the goods are faulty, damaged, not as described, or we have otherwise agreed to cover the return cost.

We will process refunds within 14 days of receiving the returned goods or receiving evidence that the goods have been returned, whichever is earlier.

Where you cancel an order under your statutory cancellation rights, we will refund the cost of the standard delivery service originally selected. Any additional cost arising from your choice of a more expensive delivery service will not be refunded.

We may reduce the amount of a refund where the value of the goods has been reduced as a result of handling beyond what would reasonably be permitted in a shop.

Returns exceptions

Certain goods are excluded from the statutory cancellation right where permitted by law, including sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed.

This may include earrings for pierced ears where the hygiene seal or packaging has been opened.

Personalised or custom-made items may also be excluded from cancellation rights where permitted by law.

These exclusions do not affect your statutory rights where goods are faulty, damaged, not as described or otherwise do not conform to the contract.

We recommend using a tracked service when returning goods and retaining proof of postage.

7. Faulty, damaged or incorrect goods

If you receive goods that are faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, please contact us at shop@glasgowlife.org.uk as soon as possible.

Depending on the circumstances and your statutory rights, we may offer a repair, replacement, refund or other appropriate remedy.

We will not require customers to pay return postage for goods that are faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described.

8. Exchanges

We are currently unable to offer direct exchanges. If you wish to change an unwanted item, please return your original order in accordance with our returns policy and place a new order.

This does not affect your statutory rights in relation to faulty, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed goods.
