1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions govern the use of the Glasgow Life Online Shop and the purchase of goods through our website. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms.
The contract for sale is formed when your order is accepted and the goods are dispatched.
2. Payment
We accept payment online using Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners, JCB, UK Maestro, Solo, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Payments are securely processed via Shopify Payments, which is PCI-DSS compliant. No payment card details are stored by Glasgow Life or Culture & Sport Trading CIC.
Telephone orders can be placed via our Customer Services team on +44 (0)141 276 9520. All telephone payments are processed securely and must be completed prior to dispatch.
3. Pricing, descriptions & availability
Every care is taken to ensure that product descriptions, images, specifications, colours and prices are accurate. However, we reserve the right to amend or withdraw products without prior notice.
Product sizes are provided as a guide only. Handmade items may vary in size, colour and finish due to their unique nature.
All items are subject to availability. Product listings do not constitute a binding offer, and the contract is confirmed upon dispatch of goods.
Prices include VAT where applicable. Delivery charges are additional and are clearly displayed at checkout.
4. Shipping & delivery
We aim to dispatch all orders within 1–3 business days of receipt, although this may vary during peak periods.
Delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed, as we use third-party carriers.
All applicable delivery charges are shown at checkout. These may vary depending on size, weight, value and destination.
Orders may occasionally be shipped in multiple consignments depending on stock availability, at no additional cost to the customer.
Click & Collect
Click & Collect is available from the Gallery of Modern Art Shop in Glasgow.
Orders are typically ready within 1–2 working days (larger or framed items may take longer, up to 1–2 weeks). Customers will be notified when their order is ready.
Valid photo ID and order confirmation are required for collection.
Free UK shipping
We offer free UK shipping on eligible orders.
Please note that limited edition prints and framed prints are excluded from free shipping due to the specialist handling, protective packaging, and premium delivery services required to ensure safe arrival.
These items are shipped using tracked services with enhanced packaging standards.
5. International orders & customs
International orders are shipped under DAP (Delivered at Place) terms unless otherwise stated.
This means that customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, or clearance fees imposed by the destination country. These charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost.
We recommend checking with your local customs authority before placing an order, as charges vary by country and are beyond our control.
US customers
From 29 August 2025, the United States removed the previous “de minimis” threshold (USD $800). As a result, all goods imported into the US may now be subject to import duties, taxes, and clearance fees, regardless of value.
To support this change, Royal Mail offers Postal Delivered Duties Paid (PDDP) services for US shipments. Where this service is used, applicable duties and import fees are calculated and paid by us at the time of dispatch, meaning customers will not be charged additional import fees on delivery.
Where PDDP is not applied, orders will be shipped under standard DAP terms and may be subject to charges on arrival.
6. Liability & lost orders
Orders become the customer’s responsibility once delivered to the address provided at checkout.
If an order is lost in transit, we will work with the courier to investigate and, where appropriate, offer a replacement or refund.
Where a parcel is marked as delivered by the courier but not received, we will assist with investigation but cannot guarantee a refund in all cases.
Any customs duties or import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer, including in cases of non-delivery.
7. Returns & cancellations
You have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receipt under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations.
To cancel, you must notify us by email at shop@glasgowlife.org.uk within this period.
Goods must then be returned within 14 days of cancellation in their original condition. Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned items or proof of return.
Returns conditions
- Items must be returned in original condition and packaging
- Customers are responsible for return postage costs
- We may deduct value for handling or damage where applicable
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method
- Earrings for pierced ears cannot be returned for hygiene reasons
We recommend using a tracked service and retaining proof of postage.
8. Exchanges
We are currently unable to offer direct exchanges. If you wish to change an item, please return your original order for a refund and place a new order.
